STRONG RACE IN ENGLAND ALSO BY CIPRIANI AND SOWERY WITH THE SECOND LAMBORGHINI HURACÁN GT3 FROM THE TEAM FROM VENETO

Caselle di Selvazzano Dentro (Padua), 04 September 2018

Another place on the podium for Fabrizio Crestani and Miguel Ramos: at the fifth of seven rounds in the 2018 International GT Open Championship, held at Silverstone, the two drivers of Daiko Lazarus Racing’s car number 27 gained further points to confirm their lead in the PRO-AM classification.

It was a productive weekend here in England for the Italian-Portuguese drivers’ couple despite a 15” handicap in both races. In Race1, held on Saturday, the red Lamborghini crossed the line in fourth place in PRO-AM, culminating with an eighth overall place and second in class gained in Race2, also thanks to Crestani’s excellent qualifying time in Qualifying2.

Two places in the Top5 in their class allowed the Team from Veneto – headed by Tancredi Pagiaro – to stay in the lead with their car #27 in the PRO-AM class, five points ahead of the Mercedes driven by Tom Onslow-Cole and Valentin Pierburg and with two rounds still to go, the next held on the track at Monza.

Meanwhile Toby Sowery – the young Englishman behind the wheel of the second Huracán GT3 together with Giuseppe Cipriani – had an extremely good pace in both races over the weekend. On his home track Toby set the tenth fastest overall time in Qualifying1, while confirming in Race1 that he can easily join the top players in the field. Unfortunately both drivers of car number 28 had problems with the tyre management and the results didn’t meet their expectations: P18 in Race1 and P15 in Race2 on Sunday.

Now all eyes are peeled on the legendary race track at Monza, in Northern Italy. In three weeks time the International GT Open Championship will hold its races here on 22 and 23 September, with the grand finale at Barcelona on the last weekend of October.
